As more of who we are and what we do becomes bits and bytes in the cloud, we are becoming more susceptible to cyber crime. It is no longer the Nigerian princes who are trying to share their millions with us - it is the Ransomware attacks encrypting our personal lives and the corporate data breaches exposing our personal info what we need to worry about.
Protecting ourselves, our loved ones and our businesses from cyber threats is not a "one and done" exercise. Cyber criminals are always looking for new ways to take advantage of us. We need to remain vigilant and try to never let our guard down. We also need to educate ourselves on how to identify and prevent these exploits.
Cyber Security Awareness Month is an internationally recognized campaign that promotes education and online safety for both individuals and organizations.
Since its inception in 2004, the annual event has focused on educating people on the latest threats and techniques used by cyber criminals.
